Women
in Film and Television Atlanta (WIFTA) has won a 2008 Accolade Award
in the category of "Honorable Mention: Public Service Programming/PSA"
for the Georgia Coalition Against Domestic Violence's PSA The
Intruder Within. Written, directed and shot by Kristen McGary,
the crew included: Christine Aubain, Raja Razek, Ryan Prows, Nicole
Matthews, Amy Linton, Greg LInton, Brent Dey, Jennifer Kearns (The
Chopping Block), Andrew Satinoff (North Avenue Post). Post-production
services were furnished by VTA. Cast included Monica LaScala, Camille
LaScala and Gregg Thompson of The People Store.
The Accolade recognizes film, television, and videography professionals
who demonstrate exceptional achievement in craft and creativity,
and those who produce standout entertainment or contribute to profound
social change. Entries are judged by highly qualified professionals
in the film and television industry. Information about The Accolade

In winning an Accolade, WIFTA joins the ranks of other high-profile
winners of this internationally respected award. Thomas Baker, Ph.D.,
who chairs The Accolade, had this to say about the latest winners:"The

and creativity. The judges were pleased with the exceptionally high
quality of entries. The goal of The Accolade is to help winners

"The Intruder Within" was also the recipient of a 2006
CINE Golden Eagle Award that will be honored at this year's ceremony
in Washington, DC. CINE's guest of honors include Edward James Olmos
and Gwen Ifill at the Newseum in Washington, DC on April 24, 2008.
